Orange County Airport to Receive Over $2.9 Million – News

On September 19, 2014, US Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced that the FAA will give the John Wayne Orange County Airport $2,918,052 in federal funding including $71,695 in entitlement funding and $2,846,357 in discretionary funding. The $2.9 million in funding will allow the county to begin the first phase of construction of a new runway for the airport. Runway 3/21 and it’s taxiway will be realigned further away from the Wallkill River protecting it from flooding and creating a runway safety zone.
