The John Wayne Airport currently has an exhibition of whimsical paintings by artist Cheryl Bookout, a resident of Costa Mesa. Bookout’s work is a fantasy style which draws upon nature and history and is inspired by images of Alice in Wonderland The exhibition is located in Terminal A on the upper Departure Level near the security screening entrance as well as on the lower Arrival Level near Baggage Carousel 1. The John Wayne Airport’s “Airport Arts Program” continues to present museum quality exhibits in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal with an exhibition of works by Irvine resident Dennis Carrie. Now through February 16 a collection of 16 of Carrie’s portrait and landscape paintings will be on exhibit. Orange County is 125 years old and to celebrate the Orange County Airport has a special exhibition titled, OC125: Exploring Orange County’s Story. Now through February 2015, airport visitors can view the display in the pedestrian walkway connecting Terminals B and C (pre-security). The display highlights over 35 historical sites located in Orange County that are still viewable today. The exhibition hopes to bring to life the story of some of the people, places and events that have helped to make Orange County what it is today.
